AMD Could Release Its Own Crypto GPU to Mine Ethereum to Calm Down the Skirmish Between Miners and Gamers – Mining Bitcoin News

A US multinational semiconductor company could lay the groundwork for releasing its own line of cryptocurrency mining processors. AMD reportedly wants to introduce a GPU for mining Ethereum.

AMD Navi 12 has no video outputs

According to PC Gamer, the AMD Navi 12, a graphics processing unit (GPU) first introduced exclusively for Apple Macbook Pro devices, could be the first crypto mining-specific processor launched by the company. In fact, the new version of the card lacks video outputs.

This means that the Navi 12 GPU does not support VCN (Video Core Next), a requirement for PC games, and is therefore the right candidate for crypto mining. According to the report, the card should be able to mine Ethereum (ETH).

If the maneuver becomes a reality, PC Gamer suggests that AMD could try to keep gaming GPUs “in the hands of gamers” and not be used for crypto mining purposes.

The possible publication of an exclusive crypto-mining AMD GPU will take place after the introduction of a processor by Nvidia, with which the ETH is to be dismantled.

As news.Bitcoin.com reported on February 22, 2021, however, Nvidia announced that it would limit the efficiency of mining Ethereum or other crypto using its new range of GPUs.

Will the quarrel between miners and gamblers soon end?

The rhetoric of both multinational corporations is the same when it comes to keeping game cards for gamers, as the skirmish between miners and gamers is long-lasting. Such a “war” has significantly boosted GPU prices in the marketplace and aroused the annoyance of gamers who struggled to find cheaper cards.

With the current Crypto Bull run, mining activity has increased. In addition, it forced companies like AMD and Nvidia to choose to launch exclusive products for crypto miners.

Recently, a regional report from China found that Bitcoin (BTC) application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) manufacturers of mining rig manufacturers have seen a massive surge in demand since the leading price of crypto assets skyrocketed is.
