A major North American blockchain hosting provider announced its expansion by ordering over 58,000 additional S19-series Antminers under an agreement with the Chinese mining hardware manufacturer.

US Contract Miner Core Scientific arranges the purchase of over 58,000 Bitmain S19 Antminers

According to the announcement, Bitmain’s deal is expected to facilitate purchases for Core Scientific customers through September 2021.

The purchase agreement will buy in a total of 76,024 next-generation Bitcoin (BTC) mining companies, the S19 and S19 Pro Antminers, over the past 16 months. Core Scientific claims that this makes them the largest hosting service provider in North America.

With the introduction of Bitmain’s latest digital mining machines, Core Scientific also plans to expand its operational fleet of 19 compute power hosted with Core Scientific to 7.26 Exahash.

Commenting on the deal with Bitmain, Kevin Turner, CEO and President of Core Scientific:

I’m delighted that over 17,000 of Bitmain’s new generation digital mining machines at Core Scientific’s facilities were stable and working efficiently. This is vital as we are directly competing for global hash rate and cementing our position as the largest hosting provider in North America.

Recently, Core Scientific was named Bitmain’s only warranty repair center in North America, eliminating the need for users to ship their hardware to Asia.

Bitmain’s latest news

On December 14, 2020, the Chinese mining manufacturer launched the international version of AntSentry, which is the cloud operation and maintenance management system.

But the latest news wasn’t all that positive for Bitmain at the end of the year. According to the firm’s attorney, a live broadcast from a Beijing People’s Court found that Bitmain had a loss of around $ 60 million in 2019.

The trial took place amid a dispute between four former Beijing Bitmain Technology employees. They claim that the company did not pay them any compensation or bonus packages when they were fired.
