Dogecoin Rises More Than 36% After Snoop Dogg Becomes Snoop DOGE

The price of Meme Cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE) rose more than 36% on Sunday after the American rapper Snoop Dogg tweeted a meme of a Shiba Inu, the dog breed, the day before along with DOGE boss Elon Musk and Kiss rock star Gene Simmons that represents the DOGE token.

The price of the cryptocurrency started trading around $ 0.56 earlier in the day and climbed to $ 0.069 on Sunday morning before hovering back to $ 0.068, an increase of more than 34% over the past 24 hours, a DOGE whiskers from all-time high of $ 0.078. Since the beginning of the year, DOGE has increased by more than 1,100%.

On Saturday at 19:54 UTC, the rap artist tweeted the following:

At 07:41 UTC on Sunday, Musk, who also serves as Tesla’s CEO when he’s not busy bolstering DOGE, tweeted a Lion King-inspired image of himself holding up Simmons, the Snoop Dogg who in turn holds up a Shiba Inu.

Pop music star Kevin Jonas also tweeted Saturday night and supported the memecurrency.

At press time, Jonas had yet to be added to Musk’s Lion King meme, which frankly is a shame on DOGE.
