Gemini collaborates with The Giving Block and others, adds donations option

US Crypto Exchanges Gemini has added the ability for customers to donate crypto to over 100 nonprofits worldwide through The Giving Block.

Gemini is now offering customers the ability to “Return With Crypto,” The Giving Block, which was featured in a blog post on Thursday. The charities available range from human rights efforts to people looking to provide clean water and beyond.

Available nonprofit groups listed on The Giving Block website include Water Wells for Africa, GO2 Lung Cancer Foundation, Kids in Need of Defense, and many more.

“With this feature, every time a user clicks the“ Donate ”button on the Gemini app or desktop platform, they are redirected to https://www.thegivingblock.com/donate-bitcoin, where they can choose whether he would like to donate for any donation from the 130+ nonprofits we work with, ”Alex Wilson, co-founder of The Giving Block, told Cointelegraph, adding:

“We’ve worked with Gemini in a variety of ways for over two years, but this new feature wasn’t made public until this week. Gemini has been a great partner when it comes to supporting crypto-friendly nonprofits. ”

In 2018, crypto natives Alex Wilson and Pat Duffy founded the Giving Block, filling a void in the crypto industry by making it easier to access donations for charitable donations based on digital assets, according to the company’s website.

According to an interview with Alex Wilson last fall, the giving of digital assets by nonprofits has become increasingly accepted over time. When you pave the way for crypto donations, nonprofits will gain a new demographic. “One of the cool things about the crypto donations was that most of them are completely new donors to them, so no other of their existing forms of donation can exploit,” Wilson said in an interview.

Wilson ranks 85th on Cointelegraph’s list of the Top 100 People on the Blockchain for 2021.
