Anthony Pompliano, the popular crypto evangelist and partner at Morgan Creek Digital, is launching a blockchain-oriented job exchange with the support of Gemini, Coinbase and BlockFi.
On Wednesday, PompCryptoJobs announced that over 100 open crypto positions had been advertised by its three starting partners.
Pompliano – known simply as “Pomp” in the crypto world – plans to use its large audience to bring companies and applicants together in a talent market. (Back in August 2020, Pompliano’s Morgan Creek Digital led a $ 50 million investment round for crypto lender BlockFi.)
“I think there is an obvious need in the market right now,” said Pomp in an interview. “You have millions of Americans and people around the world who are unemployed and millions more looking to move from their existing jobs. Meanwhile, cryptocurrency companies are growing and hiring very quickly, but there isn’t a single place for applicants and employers to meet. ”
The crypto industry, made up of armies of machine coders and social media scrum halfs, actually appears to be booming. This month, the Digital Currency Group (the owner of CoinDesk and four other companies in the space) posted over 60 new jobs.
The revenue model for the new crypto job portal involves paying a monthly fee for listing positions, Pomp explained.
“My goal is to get 10,000 board positions this year,” he said.
