Researcher Finds an Old Twitter Profile May Have Been Satoshi Nakamoto’s Account – Featured Bitcoin News

On February 22, 2021, an author posted a post on substack.com via an anonymous Twitter account that may have belonged to the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto. The researcher discovered a Twitter account called “Goldlover” and found some interesting matches with the tweets of the account and the creator of Bitcoin.

The curious gold lover tweets

An author named Varun posted an interesting analysis of a specific Twitter account that may or may not be owned by the creator of Bitcoin. Varun said in his research analysis that he came across the “Goldlover” Twitter account and found that the account was quite “chatty” for a period of time.

The researcher also said that Satoshi Nakamoto followed the same path until the inventor finally left the community. The Goldlover account (@fafcffacfff) was created in May 2008 and Varun says a script was written. The Goldlover tweets mentioned gold quite often, and Varun’s findings suggest that the “gold” terminology may refer to “bit gold”.

“On September 17, 2008, the digital gold currency was referred to in this account,” emphasizes Varun’s contribution. “Between an incredible amount of nonsensical tweets about gold, there were sometimes tweets related to decentralization, financial crisis, loss of their homes, fiat currency, and criticism of the Federal Reserve,” says Varun. “These are all hallmarks of topics of conversation that Satoshi used in his e-mails and forum posts that became known after the Bitcoin announcement.”

For example, on December 19, 2008, Goldlover said:

The great stock panic of 2008 was so mercilessly brutal that no sector escaped its devastation.

It is also interesting that in January 2009 no other Twitter account except Hal Finney tweeted about Bitcoin. “Because of all of this, this is good enough for me to be fairly certain that this was actually Satoshi’s original anonymous Twitter account,” notes Varun.

On January 11th, 2009 Hal Finney tweeted about the crypto asset and not too long after that Goldlover wrote: “By: Satoshi Nakamoto – 01/11/2009 10:32 PM Bitcoin v0.1.2 is now available for d.”

That same day, January 29, 2009, Goldlover said:

It is completely decentralized with no servers or trusted parties.

Exploring the boundless depths of Satoshi’s mind

Since Varun posted his post on Satoshi Nakamoto’s alleged Twitter account, people have been interacting with Goldlover’s 12-year-old tweets.

“Thank you for changing the world of Satoshi,” one person wrote on Monday.

If you know where oranges are in the sky in the conservatory, you are on the right track to find a treasure chest.

“If you feel sufficiently anonymous with this cryptic account that has been running since May 2008, this could have been a slip up to connect now and appear as the second tweet mentioning Bitcoin,” says Varuns Blog post on substack.com. “If Hal was Satoshi, why keep tweeting from this unknown account that had few followers?” Ask Varun. The researcher said he could have slept every Saturday morning, but that Twitter account had him looking for Nakamoto.

The report concludes:

Having concluded that this was Satoshi – we don’t know who, the rest of the tweets now give a glimpse into his mindset, and every tweet here needs to be branched and explored in limitless depths.

At the end of Varun’s theory, he left a mysterious tweet from Goldlover talking about a treasure chest of oranges in the sky.

“If you know where oranges are in the sky in the conservatory, you are on the right track to find a treasure chest,” Goldlover tweeted.

Most recently, a group of armchairs searched for Satoshi’s stash of bitcoins, believing Nakamoto left the coins behind as the greatest treasure hunt of all time. Despite the coincidences and extremely old and cryptic tweets from Goldlover, we don’t know for sure if the Twitter account actually belonged to Satoshi, but many people today speculate.
