REVV motorsports ecosystem shifts to Polygon due to Ethereum gas fees

The editor of F1 Delta Time, Animoca Brands, announced a partnership with the Ethereum layer 2 solution Polygon on February 18.

As part of the partnership, the entire REVV token motorsport ecosystem will be made available in the polygon network from the above-mentioned F1 delta time.

This ensures that players are not hindered by excessive gas fees on the Ethereum blockchain. High gas fees can paralyze blockchain-based games, as many in-game actions require a transaction.

Since many such games offer the opportunity to play to earn, this also limits the potential for returns (and in some cases can negate it entirely).

Polygon, known as Matic Network prior to its rebrand earlier this month, is a layer-two solution for scaling Ethereum and developing its infrastructure.

The rebranding was a strategic change to become a layer two aggregator and interoperability broker.

Animoca’s REVV token ecosystem currently includes three motorsport games. Along with F1 Delta Time, the utility token will be used in two upcoming titles based on Moto GP and Formula E.

Last December, a non-fungible token (NFT) representing 5% of the world-famous Monaco Grand Prix circuit in the F1 Delta Time game fetched an auction price of over 9 million REVV tokens valued at approximately USD 222,000.
