Technoking and Master of Coin — Elon Musk and Tesla CFO adopt new titles

Elon Musk’s love affair with cryptocurrency shows no sign of ending after a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission announced the acceptance of new official titles for him and another Tesla executive.

Starting March 15, Elon Musk will officially be known as the Technoking of Tesla, while the company’s CFO, Zack Kirkhorn, will officially be known as the Master of Coin. The 8-K form filed with the SEC reads:

“Effective March 15, 2021, Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn’s titles were changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin, respectively.”

The filing also states that Musk and Kirkhorn will retain their current respective positions as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

With no sign of an accompanying tweet the Tesla CEO became famous for, viewers can only speculate as to why Musk and Kirkhorn took on the new titles.

In early February, the spot bitcoin price rose $ 3,000 in minutes when news broke of Tesla’s acquisition of $ 1.5 billion in Bitcoin (BTC), pushing the coin price to a new all-time high.

After a sharp drop in the value of Bitcoin – and the Tesla share price – the title of “richest man in the world” was briefly lost from Elon Musk’s résumé. Neither Bitcoin nor Tesla stayed in the doldrums for too long, however, as a resurgent coin price soon brought Musk and the company healthy profits. On March 15, Bitcoin had hit another all-time high when the coin price flirted with the $ 60,000 range for the first time in its history.
