Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter and Square, continues to support Bitcoin with the introduction of his own “node” – software that can be used to validate transactions and blocks on the network.
On Friday, Dorsey shared a picture on Twitter showing the node synchronizing with the Bitcoin blockchain. He simply said, “Running #bitcoin.”
The node means that Dorsey can process Bitcoin transactions and record them in encrypted “data blocks”. Nodes are important to keep the Bitcoin network running.
Dorsey is a well-known Bitcoin advocate who brought Bitcoin payments to Square’s Cash app and launched Square Crypto – a team that supports the development of Bitcoin.
Last February, Twitter published a branded hashtag for Bitcoin, which means that “#bitcoin” produced the iconic Bitcoin logo in tweets.
